Condition: Very good, with very light shelfwear to covers. Inscribed to previous owner on blank page preceding title page. Binding sound. Dustjacket condition: Good, with general light shelfwear. 147pp. Many colour illustrations. This book was the first of a series of catalogues describing selections of the rare books and other material in the Oak Spring Garden Library, a collection formed by Mrs Paul Mellon. The book includes a tiny 1555 book on oaks to early 19th century advice on large-scale tree planting, and includes great books such as Evelyn's Sylva, Duhamel's Traite des Arbres and Michaux's North American Sylva..
