His influence was on James Fennimore Cooper and extended to the modern era. Volume I Wieland was issued in a small print run and is usually available only in paperback. Letter laid in from S.W. Reid, the Textual Editor of the series to Neil King Fitzgerald, who was to succeed Reid as Textual Editor. He notes his paper on Wieland needs to go to Sydney J. Krause. Bound in original 1/4 brown cloth over beige cloth, spine lettered and decorated in gilt, marbled endpapers.
