North Hills: Bird & Bull Press, 1964. Octavo. 91pp. One of 200 copies. A biography on the life and work of Thomas Bird Mosher, the remarkable New England publisher and literary pirate. The Passionate Pirate is one of Henry Morris's earlier titles. In making it, he was plagued with both papermaking and printing problems, since he had recently acquired a new papermaking beater and a new printing press. The first bindings on the books were disastrous, and the entire edition had to be rebound. This copy is inscribed by Morris "For my good friend Remy Green" and dated 11/15/64. Remy John Barcham Green worked for, and later ran, J. Barcham Green Ltd., which operated the Hayle Mill in Kent, England. Morris was in frequent contact with Remy and his father Jack (John Barcham Green II) when he first began his papermaking journey in the 1950s. Absolutely charming, often whimsical, playful, cute and/or amusing, collection of fan designs, many featuring children and with slightly naive artwork befitting the illustrations of a colorful children's book. N.d., circa 1930s, based on the fashions and one Olympic-themed design, as well as the few with a jingoistic tenor -- this was the period of rising Japanese expansionism. Slightly oblong or squarish, 23.5 by 25 cm. One text page, followed by 139 color plates, each with a fan design. 34 of the plates are brightly colored whimsical illustrations such as one might find in a children's book and of strong juvenile appeal, even when the subject matter doesn't include children. Other plates include more abstract and/or geometric designs, fish, insects, birds, views, A few of the designs incorporate photographs or illustrations created probably off of a photo. A 15" x 11" broadside with a fine woodcut of an American eagle at top with a ribbon in it's beak reading "Equalled by None". Imperial Princes' Polish $500 Will be given to anyone who can produce an article to give a brighter lustre on SLIVER or BRITTANIA and PLATED WARE than the Unrivalled Princes'' Polish. Followed by directions for use and where to purchase the produce. Concludes with "Further reccomendation (sic) than one trial is deemed unnecessary". Reverse is blank. No references found for this product; apparently short lived. OCLC - none (Sept 2021).

Some (water)staining but still a good clean copy bound in nineteenth century 3/4 red morocco & red buckram boards. Edges stained red.Second, last and best edition of this collection of engravings of medals commemorating the real and imagined triumphs of Louis XV's reign.
