Lancaster, PA: Published for the Author, 1892. First. Decorated Cloth. Very Good. . First edition. Union blue cloth ornately stamped in gilt and decorated with vignettes in black. 633 pp. illustrated with plates. The personal reminiscences of the author's experiences in the Civil War. Urban was a member of Co. "D", 1st Regiment, Pennsylvania Reserve Infantry and was involved in 25 battles and skirmishes during the war; he was captured three times and incarcerated at Andersonville, Libby and Millen prisons. A rather scarce collection of memoirs, privately published and printed on cheap paper which is rather browned as usual. Cloth darkened and gilt dulled particularly at the spine; shallow loss to the top and bottom spine edges.
