The first novel using the Pike pseudonym, Mute Witness was the basis for the 1968 feature film "Bullitt", starring Steve McQueen. 1st edition, 1st printing. 183 pp. Near Fine book (no markings to text; very light toning to page edges, ink name under front dj flap, felt marker checkmark on top corner of front free endpaper) / Near Fine dust jacket ($3.50 price not clipped; 1/4" tear to bottom edge of front dj panel near spine -- not visible from the outside; white dj spine and front flapfold slightly darkened with trace of fading to orange and red coloring on spine; rear dj panel has a 1/2 quarter-sized skinned area at bottom near spine; a trace of foxing on the inside of the front dj flap).
