About This Item
Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1986. Hardcover. Good Plus to Very Good/Very Good. As one reviewer noted about Ornstein, the late Stanford psychologist, he was "gifted with the ability to expound difficult ideas simply." That is the case with "Multimind" in which he breaks down traditional barriers between for example, science and religion, that have hampered understanding of what our brains are and how they work. First edition, first printing (with complete numberline). About 5 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches, 206 pages including notes and references, in green paper-covered boards with black backstrip and silver lettering on spine. Dustjacket's front panel features drawing by Sally Mallam Ornstein and back panel contains 3 blurbs of praise for Ornstein's work. Boards are free of significant flaws or damage beyond a very slight spine lean. No bumped corners, tears, creases or scratches. Text is complete and clean with a few dogearred pages as well as occasional light underlining, which has largely been erased. The creased corners and underlining do not prevent this copy from its primary job of explaining difficult brain science to the general public. After 30 years, the content of"Multimind" is no longer cutting edge but still unknown to most of the public and popular media.
