Foreword by Martin McCauley, a note on Russian names, to the reader, in place of a preface, chronology, glossary by Martin McCauley, biographies and index. Map illustrated end pages  both different the front end pages show the extent of the soviet union; and, the rear end pages show the Russian Federation after the fall of communism. Between pages 354 and 355 16 pages of black and white photography are 16 pages of black-and-white photography. Black coloured boards with silver coloured titles to the back strip. Photographic dustwrapper with black and red coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Title says it all. All rubbing of the book edges and softening of the back strip edges. Age toning of the text block edges and there is a black remainder dot to the lower text edge. Ruffling of the dustwrapper edges with a few marks to the dustwrapper panels along with some yellowing of the white coloured background. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
