Black-and-white illustrated frontispiece, showing detail of Giuliano Butiardini's portrait of Michelangelo. The text is illustrated with both colour and black-and-white reproductions of Michelangelo's work. Blue coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Colour illustrated dustwrapper with blue and white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. This book was first published in 1965. A small book about the genius that was the Renaissance artist Michelangelo. Softening and staining to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and to the lower book edges. Age toning of the textblock edges and internal pages. The spine has somewhat "sprung". Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and to the head and to the heel of the backstrip. There are two small "v" pieces missing from the top edge of the front dustwrapper panel, both have tears in extending from the deepest part of the "V", one measuring 0.25 " and the other measures 1.75 ".
