Accompanied by beautiful illustrations, this story is both heart warming and heart wrenching for any reader who has experienced the joy of canine companionship.John Galsworthy was an English playwright and novelist. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1932.Includes 22 illustrations throughout the text, with 5 colour plates. Collated, complete. In the original paper covered boards. Externally, very smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The boards are slightly worn and the front board has a slight tide mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with occasional spotting. Tissue guards to coloured plates are present and in tact, except there is no tissue guard to the colour plate facing page 65. The illustration is also detached from the plate. Very Good
