London: George W. Jones, at the Sign of the Dolphin, 1931. First and limited edition; just 50 copies ever printed. Illustrations by the author. Association/presentation copy, having been given to the Zamorano Club (the famed Caiifornia book collectors' club, named for Agustin Zamorano) by Constance Astley, the author's wife, with a Zamorano bookplate so stating on the front pastedown; also a previous owner's bookplate on the pastedown. 39 pp. Color frontispiece and color and monochrome illustrations by the author. 15½x10½, large but slender. Hard vellum and marbled silk boards, spine titled in gilt. Marbling of the silk boards is in blue, green and white. Limited to 50 copies. Near Fine to fine, lovely condition, with even the title page tissue guard still flawless. Beautifully-made illustrated story of love between two Pekingese. An extremely scarce title, with most of the fifty doubtless remaining in the hands of dog loving elite. Possibly the most collectible book on the subject of Pekingese. Llng3
