Torino: Fratelli Bocca Editori, 1927. Paperback. viii, 444p., wraps in clear glassine wraper, 5x8.25 inches, pages evenly toned, spine creased, sticker scar on spine, stamp of Fratelli Bocca Editori on front wrap and title page, previous owner's name penned on title page else very good condition. Text in Italisn. On Italian nationalist and republican revolutionary Giuseppe Mazzini and anarchist Mikhail Bakunin. While Mazzini's efforts towards a republican and united Italy inspired socialist movements, he also criticized Marxism and condemned the Paris Commune. Bakunin wrote "The Political Theology of Mazzini and the International" as a rebuttal to Mazzini's postions. Includes a chapter on the Paris Commune. The author, historian Nello Rosselli and his brother Carlo, leading figures in the anti-Fascist "Giustizia e Liberta" movement, were assassinated in 1937 in France by agents of Mussolini.
