Leather spine patches are excellent, with bright gilt & no discernable wear. Uncut page edges are a little darkened, top edge gilt. Verso of plate pages show darkening at the margins. There is no foxing on any pages. No dust jacket. 35 plates as called for: 14 are mounted olive/black-and-white sketches, 10 are black-and-white sketches, and 11 are photographs. 7.5 x 10.5 in., 336 pp. The classic work on the early history of the Matterhorn. PLEASE NOTE: This is a heavy book; priority & international shipping will require extra postage.
