No markings, very light rubbing to cover corner tips, faint scuff mark to back cover, otherwise Fine copy; no dust jacket as published. 10 3/4 x 7 1/4", photo of author on umber coloured cloth, [i-v], vi-viii, [1], 2- 326pp, [2]p blank. Index. A few B&W photos to section header pages. Small B&W photos in text. Mary Moore, like Kate Aitken, started a food canning company with her sisters. Her first cookbook was written during the second world war to develop recipes using corn syrup for the sweetener as sugar was rationed. She wrote a daily food column which started in 1928. An excellent and uncommon cookbook which she published herself (the first printing was in 1978), with about 1000 recipes, quite clearly written. A heavy book. (2.9 JM HOJ 300/b3. Hardcover. Fine/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
