Pictorial boards, pictorial front and rear endpapers, 103 pp., foreword, introduction, illustrated mostly from photographs, facsimiles, maps, index. Founded in 1780 during the American Revolution, the military and fur trade dominated the Island's life during the 19th century. But for over 125 years tourists have been visiting the Island's historic and scenic attractions making it one of the most popular tourist resorts in the Midwest. No automobiles, but transportation is provided by horse-drawn vehicles. A small blemish to lower portion of the front cover, else a very good, tight copy.
