New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1923. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Original light green cloth, surprisingly unfaded. Gilt titles on the front and the spine. First edition, first issue with "of" on line 19 of the last page. Inside, clean and tight with no prior owner marks. The torn dustjacket has been repaired on the verso with archival tape. Protected in a mylar sleeve. A very nice copy of an early Cather novel that cemented her reputation. . .
Synopsis
Willa Cather's A Lost Lady was first published in 1923. It tells the story of Marian Forrester and her husband, Captain Daniel Forrester who live in the Western town of Sweet Water, along the Transcontinental Railroad.
