A dramatic romance novel set in the East Lyn Valley of Exmoor, based on a group of historical characters set in the 1800s. The fifth edition of this work. Containing an engraved frontispiece. Written by noted English novelist Richard Doddridge Blackmore, known for his rich personification of the English countryside.Including a tipped-in signature of the author, scarce to find in this condition. Handsomely bound in half morocco with cloth boards and refreshed endpapers. Bound in half morocco with cloth boards and refreshed endpapers. Externally, smart, with fading to the spine and light rubbing to the joints and extremities. Tipped-in signature of the author to one of the front free-endpapers. Internally, front hinge is strained. Heavy spotting to the first and last few pages, otherwise pages are bright and clean. Very Good
