The Modern Library, New York, 1946. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/Fair. Illustrated endpapers, showing the Modern Library logo with open books and the letter "M" reproduced multiple times. Gray coloured boards with gilt titles to the front panel and backstrip. Green coloured tint to the top textblock edge. Illustrated dustwrapper with yellow, black and white coloured titles to the front panel and yellow and white coloured titles to the backstrip. 7 one act plays by the American playwright Eugene O'Neill on the sea and the men who ply their trade upon her. Modern Library series  111 Softening to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and there is rubbing to the lower book edges. Bumping to the lower book corners and there is slight fraying to the top book edge. Staining can be seen along the lower edge of the book, particularly the rear panel. Browning to the textblock edges and of the internal pages. The results of insect activity can be seen along the front edge of the free front endpaper. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and to the head and to the heel of the backstrip. Heavy creasing to the dustwrapper edges and there are a few tears with associated creasing. Stains and various other handling marks are all so present to the rear dustwrapper panel. The thing of the dustwrapper, front fold over, top right-hand corner. First edition of the work in this format and binding, and/or set or series. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. (8), 2-217, (1)pages.. Dust Jacket price-clipped.
