East Aurora, NY: Roycrofters. Good. 1900. First Edition. Hardcover. Roycrofters, East Aurora, NY., 1900. Vol. VI (Book 1) 144pp. Limited edition #258/947; Elaborately numbered and signed by Elbert Hubbard with a stylized "Illumined by" and Merritt Kyser's signature. The title page and all initials are designed by Samuel Warner black floral panel with two colors and gilt boarder and accent, both quite nice, VII more so. Handmade watermarked paper and silk ribbon marker. VOL VII (Book 2) 162 pp. #343/947 Hand signed by Elbert Hubbard (slightly different) with, (hand drawn?) Roycrofter device as well as hand printed "Illumined By" and the signature of Nellie Bowen. Each part with frontis portrait of the author covered. Three-quarter suede and marbled paper covers; 6 sections with raised bands with gilt stamp title inserts on the spine. Marbled endpapers to match boards. Good only: Binding is solid no missing, torn or soiled pages however the suede is rubbed and has been treated with Klucel G to prevent further damage caused by Red rot. The back panel of Vol. VII was previously repaired and is sound but not attractive. ; 8vo ; fair .
