Hardcover, wine cloth, silver title on spine, deckle fore-edge (pencil notation on front free end paper, top of spine bumped, couple of marks on back cover, otherwise very clean copy). dj., unclipped (short tear to back cover, bit worn on edges & corners, slight discolouration at top of front cover, some foxing on inside, crease to front flap).
Very Good condition. Size: 9 1/2" x 6 5/8" (24cm x 16.5cm). A thrilling story of Israeli agents searching for a Palestinian terrorist leader. In researching this book le Carre interviewed Palestinian fighters and both current and retired members of the Israeli intelligence community.

Synopsis

The Little Drummer Girl is a spy novel by John le Carré, published in 1983. The story follows the manipulations of Martin Kurtz, an Israeli spymaster who is trying to kill a Palestinian terrorist code-named 'Khalil', who is bombing Jewish related targets in Europe, particularly Germany, and the English actress Charlie, who becomes a double agent working on the behalf of the Israelis. The novel does not feature le Carré's most famous character George Smiley.
