Engraved frontispiece, being a portrait of George Stephenson, xvi, 528 pages, 12 page catalogue for Mr. Murray's list of new and recent works, 4 page catalogue for Aylott & Co's publications tipped in at rear. In original cloth binding without repairs, with gilt lettering to spine, gilt embossed image of Rocket on upper board. Boards rubbed at edges and corners, and corners bumped, minimal (1/8") tears at upper and lower spine, front hinges weak, dated (Atwood 1858) name on front free endpaper and name on inside of front free endpaper, foxing to portrait frontispiece and occasionally elsewhere.
