Blue boards with dark blue lettering and blue stamped design, tan cloth spine with white title block and black lettering, bw frontispiece, xi, 182 pp, includes bw plan, folded facsimile. Includes an introduction by J.J. Jusserand, Ambassador of France to the U.S. (1902-1925). Foreword by Charles Moore, Chairman, National Commission of Fine Arts. Contains documents by L'Enfant, Washington, Jefferson and others, containing L'Enfant's plan and the laying out of the City of Washington; also a copy of the plan.
