#1) The Law of 1863 relating to Roman Catholic separate schools in Upper Canada : together with extracts from the Common School Acts, departmental regulations, &c., affecting the Roman Catholic separate schools. [John George Hodgins (1821-1912). 64pp. [1863. Toronto : Lovell and Gibson, Printed for the Department of Public Instruction for Upper Canada by Lovell and Gibson.] Title-page missing for the Law of 1863, instead there is a manuscript title and the signature of a previous owner, John Murphy in Ottawa. Local superintendent's school manual. The consolidated acts relating to common & separate schools in Upper Canada; together with a full digest of the decisions of the Superior Courts, relating to school cases, down to 1864; and forms, general regulations, and instructions for executing their provisions. Together with a copious analytical index to the common school law "Arranged with notes and references." "Printed for the Department of Public Instruction for Upper Canada." Tables. #2) Ontario and Manitoba. Anonymous, written by "A Canadian who has visited Manitoba to Discover the Truth" 1872 (date from LAC). [Toronto, Publisher not stated], 16pp., Pamphlet on the North West Rebellion. A Métis uprising led to the formation of Manitoba in 1870. In 1873, the Government of Canada established the North-West Mounted Police to police the NWT. Title-page lacking as in the Peel(1973), item #339 dates this 1872 with title page missing. Author is critical of the attitude of the people of Ontario toward Riel and his followers during and after the rebellion" Peel(2003) item, item #547 English copy, suggests the location published Toronto in 1872.

Both titles, quite scarce.
