#2) Ontario and Manitoba. Anonymous, written by "A Canadian who has visited Manitoba to Discover the Truth" 1872 (date from LAC). [Toronto, Publisher not stated], 16pp., Pamphlet on the North West Rebellion. A Métis uprising led to the formation of Manitoba in 1870. In 1873, the Government of Canada established the North-West Mounted Police to police the NWT. Title-page lacking as in the Peel(1973), item #339 dates this 1872 with title page missing. Author is critical of the attitude of the people of Ontario toward Riel and his followers during and after the rebellion" Peel(2003) item, item #547 English copy, suggests the location published Toronto in 1872.
