St. John, N.B.: J. & A. MacMillan, 1889. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. First Printing of the First Edition. Fine but for some wear to extremities, and minor traces of use. List of previous owners on front endpaper, reveals a wonderful chain of provenance. First ownership signature is J. E. H. Macdonald, one of the founders of the Group of Seven. ( Lake Lyrics celebrates the Lake Huron and Georgian bay region.) Next signature is that of his son,Thoreau Macdonald. The third owner was Robert S. He gave it to Next name on the list, Peter Weinrich, antiquarian bookman and for 23 years, the executive director of the Canadian Craft Council. I purchased this book from his estate in 2014..
