About This Item

New York: Coward-McCann, 1951. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾"- 9¾" tall. Third impression--a novel presenting a possible history of the relationship between John Singer Sargent and Isabella Gardner. This copy is somewhat odd in that the previous owner has laid or pasted in various clippings related to this pair, including a Life magazine article about Mrs. Gardner. Other than these...enhancements? Third impression. This is VG, no jacket save for rear flap, with a little discoloration to endpaprers where protective plastic covering was affixed with acidic tape.
