Illustrator: Kate Greenaway. introduction by Ruth Hill Vigeurs, biographical sketch by Spielmann and Layard, bibliography and acknowledgements. Illustrated endpapers, showing some delightful Kate Greenaway illustrations. Within the text there are copious reproductions/facsimiles of Kate Greenaway's illustrations. Green cloth boards with gilt illustration on the front panel and gilt writing on the spine. Top edge the yellow -- and book is printed on yellow paper. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by Kate Greenaway, with blue and black writing on the front panel and black on the spine. A collection of the best of Kate Greenaway's works, along with an evaluation of her art and a biography as well. A little rubbing of the book corners with softening of the back strip edges. Age toning of the text block edges and there is offset tanning to the end pages all. Rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels and some chipping to the top back strip corners.
