London: Macmillan, 1958. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Karl W. Gullers. Illustrated throughout with b/w photographs by KARL W. GULLERS. Hardback: dj (price cut), frayed on edges, piece missing from lower front, beige patterned boards with red spine lettered in gilt, edges are slightly rubbed, flyleaves darkened, corner (small) torn off at top of first text page, else vg. folio, unpaginated. Karina, who lives with her family in the woods of Sweden, carves her name into a felled tree and then follows it to the sea.
