About This Item
Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. The Christian Herald Bible House, New York, 1916. Hard Cover. Book Condition: Very Good. Inscription dated 4-13-26. A little rubbing and fading on cover. First line: "Far up on the mountain-side the little shack stood alone in the clearing." Pictorial endpapers. Green coverboards. Sound binding. Some wear to top and bottom of spine. It is the story of David, a charming little boy of 10 who is suddenly transplanted from a world of music (he plays the violin) in the mountains with his father, to the provincialism of a workaday small town. But even more, it is the story of how David transplants his own character, courage and happiness into the lives of the people he meets, and wins their love and respect.
