The first signer of the Declaration of Independence seated facing right, legs crossed, in ornately carved chair, feet on matching footstool, wearing robe / smoking jacket, ruffled white shirt, vest, white stockings, slippers; he holds a book as he muses; facsimile signature below printed caption. There appears to be a shim under the rear right chair leg. Light foxing at bottom, title in form of Hancock's distinctive signature. stock#32359 (mvo).
