Contemporary full calf, spine in five compartments with raised bands, black leather lettering label, gilt. Upper board and pastedown artfully restored to style, lower hinge strengthened, light dampstain on the lower part of the first 50pp or so, else a very good copy. Selden's famous treatise on the study of Syrian mythology in the Bible which established the jurist's reputation as a leading scholar of Asian history. In Latin.
