New York: W. Borradaile, 1823. New edition. Wrappers. Good. Folding plate. 8vo, 28 pages,stained at gutter( coffee? blood?), lacks wrappers; splits at fold of plate is repaired with archival tape, later side stitching.
Contains numerous Anecdotes of Undaunted Courage, in the Prosecution of His Bold Enterprizes. To Which is Added, the Song Written on the Engagement between the Good Man Richard, and the English Frigate, Serapis. This text is a variant of a handful of similar titles published at that time. [See Sabin 36547; Shaw & Shoemaker 12929]. Based upon materials supplied by Jones. The folding plate, "Paul Jones Shooting Lieutenant Grub," is bound in at p.23, not as a frontispiece (as in some copies). Note: as with the AAS copy, the song mentioned on the title-page is not present in the text.

Joyce And Company has been in business as a professional rare bookseller and appraiser since 1975. Owner Thomas Joyce was the regular book appraiser on Home & Garden TV\'s \"The Appraisal Fair\\\" program, on international broadcasts. Thomas Joyce was the co-discoverer of George Washington's personal copy of William Leybourn's 1679 edition of THE COMPLEAT SURVEYOR, from which young Washington learned some of his surveying skills at age 16. The book had vanished for nearly a century until its re-discovery in 2017. It is now back at Mt. Vernon.
