He was researching platelets at the onset of the 1918 flu epidemic, and also an outbreak of chemical poisoning at a war munitions factory. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine in 1934 for liver therapy for anemia. -- Hardcover. Condtion: very good, bright (owner name) with heavily chipped but bright dust jacket.
