About This Item
Bardstown, (KY): Printed by John P. Edrington, 1819. Broadside, 15 1/2 x 13 inches, a partly printed document enclosed by an ornamental border, this copy completed in manuscript as a deed for a parcel of land in Springfield, Kentucky, sold by Edward Gerthen to David and Elizabeth Rodman and signed by Rodman. Printing in Bardstown apparently began in 1803 with the establishment of Francis Peniston's newspaper. Folded; some small breaks at corner folds, some old staining and foxing. Still a good example of an early Bardstown imprint.
