About This Item

New York, New York, USA: Alfred A. Knopf Incorporated, 1999. CH5 - A hard cover first edition book in very good condition. A tight, clean, sound copy in creap paper covered boards with gold lettering and a graphic on the spine with very minor overall shelf wear. The dust jacket shows very minor overall shelf wear mainly in the form of some light rubbing overall. A story set in a small, farming town in Maine. The town becomes the target of demonic infestation. It begins suddenly when a heat wave spikes in March and a three month drought begins. In addition the natural order of the town is disrupted. Most curious of all is it as if the town is living under a glass bell. The conditions in town extend only as far as the town border. On the other side of the town line the weather is seasonable and life is normal. The author is a winner of the American Book Award and her short stories have been included in the O. Henry Awards Prize Stories anthologies. By the author of "Sister Wolf" and "Group Sex." 322p.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
