Publisher's red cloth, spine and front board blocked in black and gold with decorative armorials and vignettes, blindstamped on rear board with an elaborate border.. iv, volume title page and index, 790 pages plus the 1887 Christmas number.12 X 16.25 inches.The cloth is very good, with some wear at the corners The front free endpaper has a crease along its length, with a short tear at the lower edge, there is a four page leaf detached, and one two page leaf partially detached. Pages 61 to 77 from issues July 9th 2526 though to July 16th 2417 are missing, not apparently having ever been bound in. Otherwise a very good copy. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket.
