Many brief histories of the communities that make up this rugged SW edge of the State of Illinois which, in the 1960s, your bookseller drove many times, particularly Alto Pass past Bald Knob. The author first entered these Ozarks from the central Illinois plains in 1899 and was enthralled with the beauty. He became the Principal of a school further south on the Ohio River. Fine. No dj. Scarce.
