Title page attractively & rustically designed. One page introduction followed by very nice sepia toned photos. Two maps, one of eastern U. S. & the other, "Automobile Road Map Northern New York..." There are some residue spots stuck to the back cover (a long time ago most likely). Else good+ or vg. This title is quite scarce. WorldCat locates only two copies.

Signed by Polley & dated in year of publication. This local history at its best, carefully researched & engagingly written as a powerful labor of love by the author. Chapters: Military, Education, "Talk About Bygones", Timeline, Documents, "Picture Show", "Trivia Quiz." This first printing was sold out & the book has been reprinted. You may contact Franklin Area Community Services to inquire about the later printing(s) at a more modest price, proceeds of which will go to their food pantry (as did your bookseller's original purchase of this copy). Fine condition.

The official booklet for this high school tournament in northern Wisconsin featuring teams from Antigo, Athens, Eagle River, Manawa, Merrill, Own, Rhinelander, & Tomahawk. Each teams players are listed along with coach & principal. Many ads representing sponsors. Welcome by Homer DeLong, Manager. Center pages outline the bracket. Hole punched through upper corner probably for hanging purpose, but designer uses the hole placement for cartoons inside! Mild soiling. Corners a bit curled. Good condition.

Baltimore: n.p., 1928. First Edition. Soft cover. Good. Nearly folio printed gray-brown wraps. (40pp). Illus. We note condition first. There is a full page ad several page in which appears to possibly serve as a title page. The top one-half is missing. The bottom half says "By THE FLYING CLUB OF BALTIMORE and THE AIR CORPS, MARYLAND NATIONAL GUARD." However, another full page present lists officers of the club, staff of the Maryland Nat'l Guard Air Corps, pilots, & the airport commission. Also,two leaves are detached & have been archivally reattached with minimal. but sufficient application. Notwithstanding, we still grade this as a good copy. The front cover has a lower corner crease (1") & there is a wrinkle at the top. This is really quite a remarkable program with portraits of important military people, ads, descriptions of competitive events: National Guard Race, Parachute Jump, Pursuit Race, Maneuverability Contest, Mixed Relay Race, Parachute Jump (2nd heat). Bibliography. Tom Page funded sasquatch/bigfoot research over a period of time. He was involved in the Bossburg, Washington, activity after the finding of the long trackway there in 1969, even supplying a helicopter. This circus of events is well described by Loren Colemen in his book, Bigfoot. Page died in 2020. The author has gone to great lengths to finding old newspaper articles on the subject(s). His Introduction is well worth while, and he cites newspapers, dates, and makes comments as appropriate at the end of each chapter. Recommended for the serious sasquatch / bigfoot historian. Read once. Near fine.

Madison: David Atwood, Printer, 1887. First Thus. Hardcover. Very Good. Bound reprint from the Magazine of Western History. Gilt-stamped 4to brown cloth. 58p. Engraved portraits of the subjects. Draper was the corresponding sect'y of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin & Jackson was a lawyer associated with the lead mining industry in the state and later became territorial attorney general in 1842. Thwaites, of course, is a noted Western and frontier historian. An accession bookplate is affixed to the ffep. The library or institution is not identified, but the plate has a shield & a statement in Latin around it. No other library markings. Vg condition, but we note the lower front cover corner is bumped and soft with just a touch of fraying. This original edition very scarce, perhaps rare. Your bookseller found this copy in Quebec ten years ago!

Original "Way Bill From Brattleborough and Keene to Lowell and Boston." 8 1/2" x 14/ 3/4" WITH RARE TICKET (3/3/4" x 6"). Northern, Eastern, Southern and Western Lines of Stage. Three mild fold lines. The waybill is almost completely filled in with entries in ink as is the verso. Dated September 9, 1840. The ticket is made out to ? Wethenbill (?) for $9.00 for the route Charlestown to Boston and is signed on the 8th by two agents or one on behalf of the other. Waybills like this are not too uncommon, but to have the ticket attached appears to be a rarity. Small paper loss near edge of one fold; very slight foxing. Vg.

Crane, Defenant and Appellant, argued against the use of the name "Mercedes" by defendants in "an exhibition of thought transference" on the "vaudeville stage." Leo M. Butzel, Of Counsel. George W. We note that even though this is not a library copy, there is evidence of removal of some sort of pocket on the ffep. Also the dj flaps have been taped down to the front & rear paste downs. Without removing the tape & dj, the book appears to be clean except for the pocket removal (some paper adhered to the ffep). The pc dj, although taped down, has no tears or chips. As we say, a nice reading copy.
