In Roma MDCCLXXX [1780]; reprint Gregg Press, Farnborough. 1966. Hard Cover. Two volumes: xxviii, 460; viii, 523 p., index. Theatines, a Roman Catholic order of Clerks Regular established in 1524 in Italy, were committed 'to preach the Gospel, to combat Lutheranism, and to elevate clerical and lay morality' (Webster). 'Their headquarters are in Rome, but they are found principally in Colorado.' The corresponding order of nuns was founded by Ursula Benincasa (d. 1618). Maroon cloth; VG+. stock#21591x.
