BINDING/CONDITION: mass market paperback; the paper is browning -- badly -- otherwise in Very Good condition.. about 6.5 inches tall by 4.25 inches wide . Description: Interior illustrations by Joe Krush; cover art by Jack Gaughan. The art is not credited, but Gaughan's initials are clear. An historical novel -- a later part of the Charlemagne saga, coming after the death of Roland at Roncevaux. Huon, Duke of Bordeaux, is betrayed by the knight Amaury, just as Roland was betrayed by Ganelon. To redeem himself in the eyes of the Emperor, Huon is sent on a difficult, a practically impossible mission to Babylon. Ace number F-226; cover price forty cents. The only printed date is the 1951 copyright; this first printing of the Ace mass market paperback is from August, 1963 (from information provided on a later Ace printing).
