Edinburgh: Printed by H. Inglis, 1790. Leather Bound. Very Good. 8 1/2 x 9 3/4 inches. 2 ffep + half title + title + lx + 61-572 numbered pages + 2 rfep. Scattered foxing. Bound in full tree calf. Hinges professionally repaired with Japanese tissue. Minor wear to edges and rounding to corners. Spine with four raised gilt ruled bands and black spine label with "Knox's History." Chipping loss to head and tail of spine. ESTCT92439. A nicely bound copy of Knox's collected works, including his famous polemics against "the Monstrous Regiment of Women" including most notably Queen Elizabeth I from a generally Presbyterian point of view.
