This work serves as a continuation of Sir John Kaye's History of the Sepoy War and provides a contemporary account of the factors that contributed to the Indian Rebellion of 1857; the strategies and tactics employed by both the British and Indian forces; and the eventual suppression of the rebellion. Two-volume set. Octavo (9" tall). Volume I: xxxi, 575 pp. Volume II: xxxvi, 595 pp. + errata and publisher's adverts. Maroon cloth. Cloth shows some deterioration and is discolored along spine. Foxing to edges of text blocks.
