A new edition of this work. In prize binding from King William's College, Isle of Man, with bookplate to front pastedown. Edmund Gosse's history of eighteenth century English literature. A interesting volume illustrative of the movement and development of English literature from the days of the Restoration period, through to the age of Defoe, Johnson, and the literature of the Decadence. Rebound in full calf prize binding with five raised bands, titles in gilt to morocco spine label, gilt tooling to spine, marbled edges and endpapers. Externally with shelf wear, bumped to head and tail of spine, rubbed to spine and joints. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting to first and last few leaves, pages otherwise generally bright and clean. Good
