About This Item
Alfred A. Knopf, 1956. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. First edition stated. Red cloth spine over white cloth-covered boards, lettered in gilt on spine & decorated in black & blindstamp; under pictorial dust jacket with $4.95 price intact, 627 pp. + colophon (note on type.) Very minor wear to extremities of jacket. Interestingly, the DJ flap mentions the 1953 Japanese film "Gate of Hell" but other than similar source material, I don't know of any direct relation between the two. A lovely collectible copy.
