About This Item
Boston: James R. Osgood and Company, 1877. These are Very Good (Plus) and Very Good (Minus) copies of the First American Edition, in a Fine Binding. Marbled paper-covered boards with leather tips and spine. The spine is highly decorative, with fancy gilt, five raised bands, and the labels in red and black. Clean texts; xi, 594 pages and 596 pages. Very bright and fresh. There is rubbing at the margins but the main defect is that the front cover of Volume One , while present, has detached. Please note the condition issue; Quercus must offer these as Binding Copies, in need of repairs or restoration. A pity indeed, but these would make a gorgeous set if proper attention is paid.. First American Edition.. Half-Leather. Very Good (Minus)/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
