A delightful novel, following a family of five children who must look after themselves while on holiday on the Marne, France.Written by Rumer Godden, a prolific English author best known for 'Black Narcissus'.Complete with the original unclipped dust wrapper.Acquired from the sale of Paul Gallico's library. Paul Gallico was an American novelist best known for 'The Snow Goose' and 'The Poseidon Adventure'.The first U.S. edition of this popular work, amongst Godden's best. In the publisher's original full cloth binding with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally generally smart, with a little wear to the tail of the spine and a few marks to the boards. Dust wrapper is a little sunned to the spine, with some wear along the edges of the flyleaves resulting in discolouration and the occasional perforation. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
