Lacking dust-jacket and slipcase. ; This copy is number 921 of an edition of 1,200 copies. Printed in Italy in 1939, on paper made by Enrico Magnani, Pescia, however publication was delayed until 1947 due to World War Two. [10], 316, [2] pages + tipped in "Publisher's Note". The "Verona Press wish to make it clear that it is not identical in contents with the standard volume of stories published by Messrs. Constable under the same title." - from the Publisher's Note. Patterned green cloth boards gilt lettered red lettering piece on spine. Page dimensions: 257 x 174mm. Illustrated with colour lithographs by Marie Laurencin.
