Description:
Philadelphia; (1950): Macrae-Smith Co. First Ediiton. Octavo. 204 pp. Inscribed by the author to a close family and illustrated by Evelyn Copeland. The story of a young city boy from the East visits Arizona and a cowboy ranch. He was very excited about the horses until he was told he would not have his own horse to ride. The Forman Herb takes the young boy and teaches him all about ranch life. They later find a golden palomino and bring it back to the ranch. Gard wanted this horse, but he was only allowed to care for it and finally got to ride it. Complication arises when the real owner of the palomino shows up. A very surprising ending. A fine bright copy bound in light purple pictorial cloth centrally stamped with a bust of the horse and Gard in brown, lettering to spine brown, in a very good unclipped pictorial dust jacket with crease along upper edge, minute wear to corners and spine ends, a spot of soiling to rear panel. Very nice.
