About This Item
New York: Random House, 1996. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/fine. 8vo. Cloth-backed boards. Pp. xii, 388. Published in Germany (1993) as "Die Abrechnung: Ein Neonazi steigt aus". The author was born into the Communist elite of East Germany but rebelled to such an extent that he was imprisoned. Upon his release in 1988 he founded his country's first neo-Nazi party. For the next five years he led a violent assault on the system which included street fighting and even terrorist attacks. However he began to have doubts about his activities and beliefs, and by 1993 he was publicly renouncing his movement.
