Original publisher's stiff card box, protective foam strip, the original silver foil seal (opened) and editors notes in fine condition. Full brown leather, gilt boarder & decoration on both panels and spine, raised bands, a.e.g, matching silk moiré end papers and silk ribbon marker. Illustrated by Phero Thomas. 364 pages. This is the first edition for Franklin Library's 100 Greatest Masterpieces of American Literature series published under the auspices of the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration. It is quite uncommon in this condition with box etc. An exceptionally handsome copy. ; 8vo .
