About This Item
A controversial book with something of a cult following. The authors comb the historical archaeological record in impressive detail, and ultimately question the Darwinian evolutionary assumptions underlying modern palaeoanthropology. They contend that mainstream science's prejudices have become a filter, providing us with an incorrect history. Popular with a whole range of believers of various sorts, the book provoked ire from the mainstream scientific community, which dismissed it as pseudoscience.
This is the scarce first printing of the first edition, limited to 5000 copies. The book is in excellent condition. Pages are complete, bright and tidy, with no markings and only mild age/dust related wear and some minor foxing spots. Cloth boards are tight and clean. DJ is unclipped and in excellent condition with very minimal noticeable wear. Covered in a clear removable cover. Scarce, especially in this edition and in this condition. Illus 914pp with index, bibliography, notes
