Writers and partners Ferro and Grumley, founders of the Violet Quill, and who were both to die of AIDS in the late '80s, embark here on a journey of discovery in search of Atlantis. The winding story starts in Rome and ends in the Bahamas, spurred by the reading of an Edgar Cayce story. The writers end up believing the area of what is now known as the Bimini Road is part of the ancient site of Atlantis.

Prolific paranormal author Roy Stemman turns his attention to the mystery of Atlantis. He provides a well written and profusely illustrated overview of the key themes and mysteries. Through the course of the book he seeks to find answers to questions about whether Atlantis, Lemuria and Mu ever existed, and if so where, and what exactly would they have been like.

He relates the case in impressive detail, and puts it in the context of of the competitive world of similar scandals in 19th century scandals. McKusick does a good job of rejecting baseless exotic theories around supposed ancient migrations made infamous by many a well known book by non professional archaeologists. INSCRIBED by the author in a note to his neighbour on the title page.

It is an admirable blend of literate sensitivity and scientific thoroughness.'

Academics and broadcasters Flenley and Bahn focus on some of the mysteries of Easter Island, and its fascinating and misunderstood prehistoric culture: who were its inhabitants and where did they come from? Why and how did they erect the famous stone statues found all over the island? The authors also introduce us to the island's bizarre birdman cult, and the recently deciphered Rongorongo script engraved on wooden boards. These and other enigmas are explored with interest, logic and authority.

Milton attempts a quasi-scientific non-religious creationist attack on evolutionary biology, following the arguments of 'creationist science'. A controversial book with something of a cult following. The authors comb the historical archaeological record in impressive detail, and ultimately question the Darwinian evolutionary assumptions underlying modern palaeoanthropology. They contend that mainstream science's prejudices have become a filter, providing us with an incorrect history. Popular with a whole range of believers of various sorts, the book provoked ire from the mainstream scientific community, which dismissed it as pseudoscience.
This is the scarce first printing of the first edition, limited to 5000 copies. The book is in excellent condition. Clunn was a retired major and amateur archaeologist who discovered the site of the battle of Teutoburg Forest. This book tells the story of his search for the site, the location of where three Roman legions were wiped out by German tribesmen in AD 9. He first found coins and then other items, all finally leading him him to discover what had happened to the 'lost legions'.
